FAQ'S

Frequently Asked Wedding Photography Questions

What happens on the day of the wedding?

Depending on the package you opt for we will either arrive at the wedding location 30 - 45 minutes before the start of the ceremony and stay until just before the start of the evening meal or we will arrive at the required starting point for bridal prep and stay until the end of the first dance.
For all weddings except very small ceremonies, (under 15 people), there will be two photographers meaning you get a nice mix of both formal and informal images from the day.
We will take a number of different images throughout the day and while some posed shots are necessary we will not take over your day or have you standing in the one spot while taking endless pictures.
We find that having too big a list of pictures to take can reduce the spontaneity of the pictures themselves.
While a short list of specific pictures you definitely want, (i.e., a picture of long lost auntie Mabel), can be helpful too many can turn the picture taking process into a bit of a conveyor belt.
We will take plenty of images throughout the day and we will ask you while we are there if there are any other pictures you want but most of all we will put you at ease throughout the day as this is your day to be enjoyed with your family and friends.

How many pictures do we get?

For wedding coverage just prior to the start of the ceremony until just before the start of the evening meal you can expect up to 300 high quality images on USB.
For all day coverage, (bridal prep to first dance), you will receive up to 500 images.
The amount of images you receive can vary depending on the size of the wedding, amount of coverage, time available for pictures, weather and the locations themselves however we prefer to focus on the overall quality of the individual images rather than padding out the numbers for effect.
All the images you receive are fully edited and saved at both high and low resolution.

How long after the wedding do we get the pictures?

We aim to have your pictures ready three weeks after the big day.
As a courtesy to the bride and groom you will get to see the images before anyone else which you can either watch on the large screen in our Viewing Room or in the comfort of your own home via the password protected Online Album.

How do you design our album?

For the storybook style albums we are more than happy to design the album for you or you can let us know which images you want and we will design the album to your specifications.
Whichever option you choose you will receive a preview of the album for approval so nothing goes to print until you are totally happy with the design.
Once the album has been approved and sent for printing please allow up to 28 days for delivery.

Can we customize our package?

Yes you can.

Do you charge for travel?

The cost of travel is included for all weddings within a 25 mile radius.
For weddings outwith this distance an additional mileage charge may apply.

I hate getting my picture taken. Do we have to do a cheesy pose for all the pictures?

In a word, no, we don't like cheesy pictures either.
Our style is very relaxed and friendly. We believe we are there to add to your day, not take you away from it.
While some posing may be required a lot of our pictures are candid in nature and even for the groups shots we try to avoid taking any "stiff" looking images.

Can family and friends buy images from the day?

Yes, they can view and purchase any images they want via the password protected Online Album.

How long have you been in business?

We have been established since 2005.

Are you insured and do you have back-up equipment just in case?

Yes.

How do we book you?

A £250.00 booking fee guarantees your date. You can pay by cash, cheque, bank transfer or credit card.

Frequently Asked Portrait Photography Questions

What are your prices?

A portrait session in our studio for up to twelve people is only £75.00
In addition you will receive one hand printed 5 x 7 inch image of your choice presented in a high quality frame.
We have a range of optional extras including contemporary and traditional framing options and even the option of purchasing all images on USB.

How many pictures do we get?

The numbers vary from portrait to portrait however for a family portrait you could typically expect to choose anywhere from twenty up to fifty high quality images.

How long after the portrait do we get to see the pictures?

We will invite you back to the studio within the following seven to ten days.
While there you can enjoy a tea or coffee while you view your images on the big screen of our Viewing Room.

What clothes are best for a portrait session?

Most bright, solid colours are fine.
The only clothes to really avoid are striped or hooped tops as these can appear "noisy" in the pictures.
We would generally recommend smart-casual for comfort, and to avoid anyone looking too stiff or formal in the pictures.

Do you cater for children's portraits?

Of course. If it's pictures of the children without the parents we generally cater for children aged one and upwards.
We are happy to take pictures of babies with their parents however due to the specific challenges of babies under two weeks old we don't do newborn images of the baby on it's own.
Whether it's for one child or ten we will take the same care and attention to your images ensuring your child is engaged and relaxed to ensure you receive the most natural, creative images of your children.
