FAQ'S for wedding & portrait photographers Paisley

Frequently Asked Wedding Photography Questions

Q) What happens on the day of the wedding?
A) Depending on the package you choose we will either be ready at the wedding venue no later than thirty minutes before the start of the ceremony and stay until just before the start of the evening meal or we will arrive at the required starting point for bridal prep and stay until the end of the first dance.
For all weddings except very small ceremonies, (fifteen people or less), there will be two photographers meaning you get a mix of both formal and informal images from the day.
We take a number of images throughout the day and while some posed shots are necessary we will not take over your day or have you standing in the same spot taking endless pictures.
Our pictures contain a mix of candid, group shots and posed shots as well as the main moments of the day itself.

Q) How many pictures do we get?
A)
The amount of images varies depending on the size of the wedding, length of coverage, time available for pictures, weather and the venue itself however we prefer to focus on the overall quality of the individual images rather than padding out numbers for effect.
As a rough guide for a large scale, all day wedding you can expect to receive anywhere between 300 - 500 fully edited images.

Q) How soon after the wedding do we get the pictures?
A) We aim to have your pictures ready three weeks after the big day.
As a courtesy to the bride and groom you will get to see the images before anyone else which you can either watch on the large screen in our studio or in the comfort of your own home via the password protected Online Album.

Q) How do you design our album?
A) We are more than happy to design the album for you from scratch or you can let us know which images you want and we will design the album to your specifications.
Whichever option you choose you will receive a preview of the album for approval meaning nothing goes to print until you are completely happy with the design.
Once the album has been approved and sent for printing the album should be ready for collection after four weeks.

Q) Can we customize our package?
A) Yes. If there is anything you would like that isn't included, just ask.

Q) Do you charge for travel?
A) The cost of travel is included for all weddings within a 30 mile radius.
For weddings outwith this distance an additional mileage charges may apply.

Q) I hate getting my picture taken. Do we have to do cheesy poses for all the pictures?
A) In a word, no. Our style is relaxed and friendly. We believe we are there to add to your day, not take you away from it.
While some posing is required a lot of our pictures are candid in nature and even for the groups shots we try to avoid taking any "stiff" looking images.

Q) Can family and friends see the wedding pictures?
A) Yes, they can view and purchase any images they want via the password protected Online Album In page.

Q) How long have you been in business?
A) Since 2005.

Q) Are you insured and do you have back-up equipment just in case?
A) Yes and yes

Q) How do we book you?
A) A £250.00 booking fee guarantees your date. You can pay by cash, cheque, bank transfer or credit card.

Frequently Asked Portrait Photography Questions

Q) What are your prices?
A)
A portrait session at the studio for up to eight people is typically £50.00
In addition to the portrait session itself you will receive one hand printed 10 x 8 inch image of your choice presented in a high quality frame.
We have a range of optional extras including modern and traditional framing options and we even offer the option of purchasing all images on USB.

Q) How many pictures do we get?
A)
The numbers vary from one portrait to the next however you could typically expect to choose from twenty to fifty high quality, individual images.

Q) How long after the portrait do we get to see the pictures?
A)
We will invite you back to the studio within the following fortnight to view your images on the big screen.

Q) What clothes are best for a portrait session?
A)
Most bright, solid colours are good.
Avoid striped or hooped tops as these can appear "noisy" in the pictures themselves.
White tops can be fine however there is a chance you may appear a bit "washed out" against our white backdrop.
We would generally recommend smart-casual for comfort and to avoid anyone looking too stiff or formal in the pictures.

Q) Do you cater for children's portraits?
A)
Of course. If it's pictures of the children without the parents we generally cater for children aged six months and upwards.
